Fall 2024 we reintroduced the Y College Cards4Kids program at the University YMCA, with Sienna Hackbarth, student program manager, at the helm! We established a partnership with the Y of Honolulu and now have 50 youth participating with our UY college mentors in a monthly pen pal exchange! We also crafted Power of Yet encouragement cards for children in Minneapolis public schools, did classroom postcard exchanges and more! Reducing isolation and creating connect is our goal!

Meet Sienna Hackbarth, UY Program Manager

Hi! My name is Sienna Hackbarth and I am currently a junior majoring in Environmental Science, Policy and Management and French. This is my second year here at the UY and first year as a Program Manager for Cards4Kids. What I love about the UY is that it's such a wonderful environment and it’s a great opportunity to connect with kids in the community. I have always wanted to have a career working with kids and helping others, this is the best place to do both. The UY allows me to achieve this goal and also work as a team, which is so fulfilling.
