The YMCA aims to change this with fun, challenging and unique activities like the Resilinator race.

This year’s theme is a SPOOKTACULAR for kids and families. Buddy pairs race - while being tethered together - through fun and challenging obstacles to earn a finisher’s medal and new confidence and grit. Buddies can be friends, siblings or a child with a parent, mentor, grandparent, coach or trusted adult. Racing in a buddy pair provides the participants the opportunity to work together by creating trust and communication to solve the challenges and obstacles they face throughout the course.

“My favorite part was running through the huge leaf pile before the finish line,” said Josh, a 10-year old racer. “The race was hard but really fun. I can’t wait to do it again!”

“Y Adventure Lab makes sweating fun for kids,” said Dr. Tracy Hall from South Lake Pediatrics. “Once they get involved, they don’t want to stop.”

“Pediatricians across the Twin Cities prescribe the Resilinator to help kids get active,” said Glen Gunderson, president of the YMCA of the North. “The YMCA is proud to provide unique wellness opportunities for kids with the support of partners across our community.”

WHO:
YMCA of the North Adventure in partnership with Three River Parks District

WHAT:
Resilinator, a SPOOKTACULAR adventure race for buddy pairs

WHERE:
Hyland Lake Park Reserve at 10145 Bush Lake Road in Bloomington, MN 55438

WHEN:
Saturday, October 28 with start times from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, October 29 with start times from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

About the YMCA of the North

The YMCA of the North is a leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Established 167 years ago, the Ys provide life-strengthening services across the greater Twin Cities metro region, southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin communities. The 29 Y locations and program sites, eight overnight camps, 10-day camps, and more than 90 child care sites engage more than 370,000 men, women and children of all ages, incomes and backgrounds. To learn more about the Y’s mission and work, visit www.ymcanorth.org.
Mon, 23 Oct 2023 14:15:52 +0000 jeffrey.needham 4728783 at https://ynorth-dev.oneeach.net YMCA Hosts All-City Minnesota Vikings Flag Football Tournament Event for 300 Youth on October 7 and 8 https://ynorth-dev.oneeach.net/news/2023/10/02/4718149/ymca_hosts_all_city_minnesota_vikings_flag_football_tournament_event_for YMCA Hosts All-City Minnesota Vikings Flag Football Tournament Event for 300 Youth on October 7 and 8 jeffrey.needham Mon, 10/02/2023 - 10:40

Bloomington, MN – The YMCA of the North, a leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, will host a metro-wide Minnesota Vikings flag football tournament for 300 youth from ages 6 to 14 on Saturday, October 7 and Sunday, October 8.

The event is the culmination of the eight-week season where participants engaged in sports programs at their local Ys.
